Furniture Options for 1.7 litre Chambers
The 1.7 chamber is supplied with 2 x 0.25ml straw holders together with 13 x cane holders, however additions can be made at the time of ordering your freezer or later should your requirements change. The following are the ordering references should you wish to order more inventory for your 1.7 litre chamber. Note that the diameter of the CBS "high security" straws have the same diameter as the "classic" 0.5ml straw, therefore should you wish to use these then the 3 place straw holder must be used.

16 Litre Chamber - Ampoule (vial) freezing
The 16 litre chamber does not have furniture supplied as standard, since it's use is varied. Furniture is available to freeze Blood Bags, Ampoules, Heart Valve Packs and Straws however made to order furniture is available upon request.
The following furniture is available as standard
High volume of ampoules can be frozen within the 16 litre chamber individually placed stainless steel wire rack, which provides an open area to ensure all the ampoules are frozen uniformly.
If your storage method is to keep the ampoules on Cryocanes then the simplest way to freeze and transfer to the liquid nitrogen vessel is to place them into a stainless steel wire basket on their canes. This basket is open to ensure uniform freezing is achieved throughout the chamber.

The blood bag cassettes are designed to provide a thin section of material within the blood bags therefore ensuring that the product is frozen uniformly to maintain the highest percentage of viable product after thawing. A rack is provided to hold these cassettes vertical within the chamber. The 16 litre chamber rack holds 11 cassettes.

Heart valves are normally frozen in sachets with or without external cardboard boxes. These should be placed into a stainless steel open rack to allow the Heart Valves to achieve the best possible freezing curve.

16 Litre Chamber - Embryo and Semen with seeding option
The IVF lid replaces the lid supplied with the freezer, this lid comprises of 25 (*) holes to accommodate straw holders similar to those used in the 1.7 chamber. The purpose of this lid is to provide a larger capacity of straws or ampoules frozen during the same run while allowing safe partial removal of the holders to ensure that seeding can be performed. To ensure that the chamber is able to control at the precise temperatures which it is designed for all the holes in the IVF lid must be filled, either with straw/ampoule holders or with blanking plugs.
